Real Estate ListingsWritten by James Lyons There are some real estate listings that consistently neglect interesting parts of Washington DC. Old Town Alexandria is one of those communities that everyone loves to visit, but many ignore when it comes to real estate. Don't you know that Old Town Alexandria was hometown of George Washington and Robert E. Lee? If it's good enough for those men, then it should be good enough for you. In 1749, Alexandria was established as a seaport by Scottish merchants. Currently, Old Town Alexandria is a flourishing national landmark with coffee shops, mom & pop stores, and top-of-the-line restaurants. Most of these places run their operations in restored 18th and 19th century colonial homes and buildings. Real Estate Listings in Old Town AlexandriaOld Town is an excellent place to search for commercial real estate. People from all over Washington DC, Northern Virginia, and Maryland venture to Old Town Alexandria on the weekends or during the week if they have the time. It's hard to resist the great food, shopping, and the delightful cobblestone streets. If you do plan on visiting Old Town Alexandria, I suggest stopping by the Old Presbyterian Church Meeting House, the Torpedo Factory Art Center, Gatsby's Tavern, and the Carlyle House. If you have the urge to open a unique shop, restaurant or bar, peruse the real estate listings and see what commercial space is available in this neck of the woods. I'd also suggest looking at the available apartment and condo real estate listings. This is rapidly becoming a popular place to live for young professionals a few years out of college.
