The city of Issaquah, Washington may be small with just over 13,000 people, but it is a rapidly growing city with many unique qualities that are luring home buyers to invest in this vibrant community. Among the many amenities Issaquah offers are excellent public schools, police and fire departments, art, entertainment, night life, and business opportunities.

A Quick Look at Issaquah

The small town, close knit feel of Issaquah combined with its strong growth rate of just under 10 percent creates a strong real estate market of long-term homeowners and renters. Growth in property values and in new home construction has been consistent and is expected to continue.

Tied to the strength in property values and the relaxed, friendly atmosphere is the tendency for people to come to Issaquah to stay. There is far more long-term, owner occupied real estate investment in this city than for profit, resell investment. Rather than buying a house, fixing it up, then selling it for a profit, homeowners in Issaquah tend to stay here. Owner occupied housing is far more common than renter occupied housing.

The small town character and distance from Seattle means that Issaquah is a slightly more sedate, mature town than Seattle's closer neighbors like Redmond. At 37 years, the median age in Issaquah is slightly higher than cities closer to Seattle, but property values are slightly higher as well.
