Renton is one of the fastest growing communities in the Eastside of Puget Sound outside Seattle. The city grew by about six percent between 2000 and 2002. Renton's low unemployment and low cost of living make it one of the most attractive places for people moving to the area.

Homes for Sale in Renton

One of the main draws of Renton is its extremely affordable housing. Homes in this town can cost considerably less than in nearby cities. The median house value in Renton in 2000 was approximately $180,000, which is tens of thousands of dollars less than in nearby Issaquah or Redmond.

Renton offers another unique situation for home buyers. Of the nearly 22,700 houses in Renton in 2000, there was an almost perfect 50/50 split between owner occupied and renter occupied units. This means that there is a lot of room for more people to buy houses and move to the area in the future.

The typical house in Renton has three bedrooms and most likely costs between $150,000 - $250,000. The city also has many excellent schools for families with children and there are city sponsored cultural and learning programs. The climate in the region is mild and comfortable most of the year.
