Dating Profiles

When it comes to online matchmaking tools, dating profiles are perhaps the first thing members choose to go to in their search for a date. These profiles are the key to allowing others to view one's bio, digital photographs, likes and dislikes. They are the first glimpse into one's personality and, if written attractively, can pique a member's interest.

The trick to writing good dating profiles is to only put honest information in a clear, succinct, and attentive way. Never write lies or hyperbole's in your bio just to look smarter or more talented than you really are. Also, do not include interests or hobbies that you do not enjoy, as you may attract others for these precise aspects.

What Not to Include in Dating Profiles

Unfortunately, the Internet is still full of spammers, con artists, and dangerous individuals. It is best to protect yourself when communicating with members on a dating website, starting from your profile and including all emails, online chats, and message boards. Do not give out your personal information to anyone online unless you have spent honest time, and perhaps face-to-face time, gaining their trust (and vice versa).

It is a good idea to sign up with a free web-based email system, like Yahoo, MSN, or Hotmail. In this way, you can link this anonymous email on your profile and leave your personal email address away from the public. Your computer email won't be flooded with dating offers, and you can concentrate on those particular emails on your own time at your own pace.
