Internet Dating Profile
Written by Sierra Rein
Your Internet dating profile is the first glimpse another online member can have into your personality. It takes a bit of know-how to write an effective, attractive, and honest profile. It should reflect your individuality and highlight your positive sides without seeming pretentious or egotistical.
A good thing to do before filling out any online forms is to sit down and manually write out a list of all the things you enjoy doing. Prioritize them and circle the ones that you feel are necessary in a date, whether it be the love of politics, religious faiths, athletic abilities, or the enjoyment of poetry. If there is a limited amount of space on the Internet dating profile, put the most important aspects of your personality first.
The All-Encompassing Photo on the Internet Dating Profile
The hardest thing to nail down is the online photo which will accompany the information you put on the profile. This picture should be attractive yet should not be a set up glamour shot portraying you in gobs of makeup and fancy dress. Many people choose candid shots taken at friend's parties or social gatherings, as these are more likely to show them relaxed, having fun, and attractively clean and made up.
Internet profiles are the key to compatibility matching, so never put any lies or exaggerated facts on it. Otherwise, you may be paired up by the computer with someone completely different from yourself, or attract people with whom you have no true connection with. If you are still struggling to write your profile, contact the dating board for help or read other profiles for inspiration.
