Networking Online
Written by Sierra Rein
For thousands of dating, engaged, or married men and women, networking online was their ticket to finding love and romance. While the online dating process may not work for everyone, it has been proven to be a highly effective communication tool. Single women can chat with single men without worrying about any dangers to their personal safety, while men can find women with which they can connect on an honest and secure level.
There are a few rules common to most websites that provide networking online services. Regulations of common courtesy and an absence of obscenity and personal threats are the most usual ground rules. However, each website has it's own set of member expectations that must be adhered to in order to maintain membership.
A Few Tips to Networking Online
We all have dreams of having physical and personal characteristics that are different from our own, but these dreams should not be actualized online. Pretending to be someone you are not, either in name or description, is not only annoying but it can be detrimental to your chances of finding a friend or date. It is harder to maintain lies for a long period of time and most people can recognize exaggerated truths and see through these lies for what they are.
Instead, be yourself and maintain dignity when conversing with other people online. Keep your own personal information to yourself until you feel completely safe with your online friends, and never give out financial or business information to anyone. If any one of your friends press you for this info, consider it a warning sign that your "friend" may actually be a scammer and out for your money instead.
