Chicago Wedding DjsWritten by Norene Anderson Chicago wedding DJs have the responsibility of making sure the wedding reception flows smoothly. Once the vows have been acknowledged, it is time to celebrate the beginning of a life as husband and wife. One of the first responsibilities of the DJ is to welcome the bride and groom. The couple will then be served the main course of the meal. The remainder of the reception is kept moving by the DJ. The cutting of the cake and toasts to the bride and groom will be emceed by the DJ. He or she will keep the toasts coming in the proper order. Once the formalities are done with, the music will begin. The bride and groom will have the first dance alone together. It is appropriate then for each to dance with his or her parent before opening the floor for everyone to join. Things Chicago Wedding DJs Do to Liven Things upAt the appropriate time, the DJ will interrupt the music and dance for the tossing of the bouquet and the garter ceremony. This is a fun time enjoyed by all. The DJ invites the single women to separate themselves from the rest of the guests. Then the bride will turn her back on them and toss the bouquet toward the group of women. The bouquet is usually a small replica of her bouquet made specifically for the toss. It is not unusual for there to be only a limited number of single women for the bouquet toss and single men for the garter ceremony. In this case, an alternative option is to give the bouquet to the couple who has been married the longest. The DJ asks all married couples to come to the dance floor. Then he or she eliminates the couples by asking those who have been married for less than 10 years, 20 years, and so on until the last couple is left. It is a way to honor a long commitment to marriage. If you want your DJ to include moments like this, be sure to tell him or her.
