They can also give a good idea of an individual's professionalism and working style. For example, how did the photographer dress and did he or she fit in well with the theme or style? Did he or she maintain a helpful attitude throughout the event?

Many couples planning for wedding photography choose to get engagement photos made beforehand. This way, a couple can become accustomed to the way a photographer directs and shoots a scene, as well as the type of shots that work best for them. Anything that helps decrease the stress of the actual wedding day is worth a little extra time and money.
