Avoid the Wedding Planning Blues!

Unless you're one of those brides who has been reading wedding magazines since you were ten, you will probably face the prospect of planning your own wedding with a combination of excitement and abject fear. How will you ever get a handle on all of the numerous tasks that will have to be accomplished in order for your wedding day to be all that you hope for? You will probably start to get a lot of advice from well meaning friends and family, but it will still be up to you to organize the whole process.

If you can't afford the services of a professional wedding planner, don't despair. At the same time, don't be fooled by wedding venues that claim to include the services of a wedding planner in their price. Usually, those planners are focused only on a single element of your wedding, often the ceremony venue or the reception. They can and will help to make sure things go according to your wishes, and they may offer great advice, but they will not take you from engagement to honeymoon.

How to Make it Through Wedding Planning

If you want to minimize the stress and maximize your efforts, you will need all the organizational skills you possess. One way to find the help you need is to search for wedding planning guides on the Internet. You will be surprised at the long list of details to address, and having a good planning guide can be a real lifesaver. In addition, many of the online wedding websites also offer a variety of services that will take some of the load off your shoulders so that you can survive until your wedding.

Such services as guest management, your own wedding website, a wonderful selection of wedding invitations and other invitations and notices can help you to reduce the number of tasks you have to think about each day. Take advantage of all the help you can get. Delegate some of the tasks to your fiance and family and friends if you can. Make lists. One good thing about lists is that they help you to focus on only a few tasks in any given time frame. Look for a wedding planning guide that includes a timeline. Finally, try to have some fun and make room for some quiet time with your fiance, and don't panic.
