Background Check Solutions

In the past, companies would trust information that was written on employee applications. If anything, they would contact previous employers that were listed as references on applications to verify identities and experience. Today, employers are much more concerned with hiring trustworthy employees. Identity theft and security issues have escalated in recent years, so businesses are being more cautious about trusting their applicants.

Examples of Background Check Solutions

Background checks have become necessary techniques for screening employee applicants. Some companies require all applicants to submit to background checks before they can be considered for employment. Other companies simply use background checks as a precaution. Some companies may not use background checks unless they feel that information presented on an application may be false or misleading. Different companies can choose whether or not background checks need to be present in the hiring process.

Background checks offer large amounts of personal information to employers. Employers must notify their applicants in writing before accessing background checks. Applicants must also provide employers with written consent before the process can take place legally. Background checks provide much more than names, birth dates, and contact information. They also provide information about criminal records, previous properties, relatives, neighbors, and credit worthiness.

Companies that do not need such detailed information about their applicants can use other solutions for background screening. Both identity checks and criminal checks use public records to obtain their information. Because the information is basic, these checks can be returned to employers in a timely manner. Some companies will even provide instant results for identity or criminal check requests.
