Affordable Bullet Proof Vests

Up until now the technology for producing modern body armor has not succeeded in producing really affordable bullet proof vests. But that is all about to change it seems. Dupont has been developing a totally new concept in its Kevlar fabric that is used to make some of the best bullet proof vests in the business. Spectra is expected to become the top material within a few years as Kevlar has been improved for years and years and is now almost at its maximum performance possible. Spectra is in its "early" development stage and is expected to improve a lot.

Very soon a completely new concept will be introduced that will actually mean affordable bullet proof vests for everyone. The innovation, liquid armor, will actually make all types of body armor a better fit, lighter and easier to move in, and cheaper. This amazing new liquid has to be seen to be believed.

We Now Have Affordable Bullet Proof Vests

It works on impact. This means that at any time, it is soft and fluid. The fabric used for making protective gear is soaked in it prior to sewing. After this, the fabric can be soaked and shaped as is needed with such fitted gear, and then sewn. When in use, the garment stays soft and flexible, compared to previous versions of body armor which have always tended to be stiff and restricting.

When hit by any kind of projectile, whether a bullet or a segment of shrapnel, the fabric will spring into action and stiffen, protecting the wearer. This is pretty amazing technology all around, but what has the military most exited is the prospect of affordable bullet proof vests, and indeed other items of body armor, since this technology lends itself to full body armor very easily. Providing protection for all personnel will shortly be within reach of any organization.
