Motion Activated VcrsWritten by James Lyons If you don't trust your babysitter or nanny, please get a motion activated VCR. Motion activated VCRs literally start recording activity when it senses significant motion. These devices are typically very discreet because the display screen is disabled. The VCR appears to be off when it's actually recording all the activity in front of it. Nannies characteristically spend most of their time in rooms that have televisions, which is why VCR cameras are so effective. Some people might cringe when they read that. They feel it's an invasion of privacy or a breach of trust. I call it looking out for your kids. If the nanny is doing an excellent job, then he or she has nothing to worry about. Motion Activated VCRs Are for the KidsThe devices can also be used as hidden surveillance cameras to monitor the interior of your house while you're away on business or vacation. VCR cameras are more effective for monitoring nannies and babysitters. While some might see this as an invasion of privacy, I see it as protection for both the nanny and the children. There have been numerous documented cases of children falsely accusing nannies and babysitters of illegal behavior. Children, like the rest of us, can be vengeful. They often don't understand the consequences of their behavior. Accusing a person of illegal behavior is the same to them as accusing them of raiding the cookie jar. VCR cameras are there simply as a precaution.
