Military AidWritten by Seth Cotterell Recent years have seen a growth in military aid programs designed to entice new recruits and better serve our veterans who have served so honorably. Some of these programs are as minor as slightly expanded housing allowances for serving members to as major as helping veterans secure favorable mortgages through the Veterans Administration. There are actually a whole host of financial programs available to current and former members of the American armed forces; they just have to be sought out. Types of Military AidSome of these military aid programs can significantly help veterans to improve their lives. For instance, the Montgomery GI Bill has sent hundreds of thousands of soldiers to college when they leave the service. This has been a boon to both the veterans community and the American economy, as these educated legions of former soldiers have been able to hone their skills and make incalculable contributions to the marketplace. Other military aid programs are designed to help these educated people further themselves to an even greater degree. These include special rates on Small Business Administration loans, VA home loans, and government-subsidized health care, to name a few. There are many more military aid programs than the ones listed above; they just need to be sought out. Some of these might be programs private companies offer to show their appreciation for the sacrifice our brave men and women make, such as discounts at the movies or on golf courses. So, it pays for veterans to be constantly on the lookout for financial deals and miscellaneous perks intended just for them.
