Joining the U.S. Navy is perhaps one the noblest and most beneficial moves a young person today can make. The Navy not only offers the chance to defend your country, but they also have financial programs that can alter your life forever. The number of Navy financial assistance programs is enormous; from the Navy College Fund to the non-taxation of income while out-of-country. The Navy truly is a unique employment opportunity.

All members of the service are eligible for GI Bill benefits, an assistance program that has allowed many a vet to go to college. However, the Navy takes it one step further and offers something called the Navy College Fund, a special program designed to benefit those who take the highly skilled positions the Navy must fill. This is extremely important, for it is the Navy that truly allows the United States to dominate the world by controlling her oceans.

Another indirect Navy financial assistance program is the fact that service members do not have to pay taxes while stationed in a foreign country or on battle group envoy. This is actually extremely beneficial, especially to those on ship, for there are very limited opportunities to spend money in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.

These are just a small sample of the Navy financial assistance programs available, for they also offer adequate pay, excellent benefits, home loan programs, and lifelong healthcare just to name a few. It is an excellent way to take care of those who are taking care of us and a great way for them to take care of their families.
