Badge Holders

Badge holders can cut down on the cost or hassle associated with replacing lost badges. Many ID cards are placed in someone's wallet and only removed to gain access to the building. The wallet is opened so many times in the course of a day, however, that at any point access credentials can be accidentally lost by the owner or intentionally stolen by someone else.

When ID badges are misplaced, the employee may have a hard time gaining access to the building if he or she is not recognized by security. He may have to wait until one of his co-workers arrives to sign him in as a guest, at which time he will have to go to the security office to have a new badge issued. This can leave the employee in a foul mood for the rest of the day, as well as taking time away from his job.

The most effective ID badges are those that are worn by employees on a regular basis. When they are supposed to be worn in plain sight, it is very obvious when someone does not have one. This allows any employee to notify security, not just if someone in the building is unrecognized and acting suspiciously, but if anyone simply does not follow the security procedure.

Wearing ID Badges

ID badges tend to be made of plastic if they are intended for long term use. In order for plastic badges to be displayed constantly, you will need to include badge holders so that the badge can be attached to clothing. Badge holders are made of plastic or metal and can clip the badge to clothing. You could also consider other accessories, such as transparent sleeves, if the badge must often be removed for swiping through a card reader.
