Document security solutions are a must in this day and age, not just to protect important documents, but to verify their authenticity, too. It wasn't that long ago that a forged African document reached the White House, indicating (incorrectly) the sale of uranium to potential terrorists. A breach in security can reach the highest levels and create insecurity.

Bags and Tape: Some Document Security Solutions

One of the simplest document security solutions is the tamper evident bag or envelope. These bags seal easily but sure don't open that way; once they are closed they will remain closed until the recipient opens them. No one--not even using Freon, gas, or heat--can open them without indicating so; a quick visual inspection will confirm whether the documents are safe or have been tampered with.

Custom-sized envelopes or bags (they can be gusseted to allow for bulkier items) have a fold-down self-sealing closure. Nothing could be easier: insert your important documents, remove the tape backing, and seal it shut. What's inside-contracts, corporate data, or whatever you need to protect--stays inside.

Security tapes are other common document security solutions. A pilfer indicating tape reveals a hidden message--the word "open"--a few hours after the tape has been cut and resealed; you'll know before you accept a package that the documents have been viewed or taken. Other security tapes reveal "tampered" as soon as the tape has been removed, deterring thieves from opening any package, letter, or container with this level of protection.
