Glad Hand Locks

Glad hand locks prevent the unauthorized movement of a truck's trailer--especially its cargo. By sealing the air intake valve of a trailer's brake system, no one can access the air brake line and surreptitiously move the truck. By keeping the truck stationary, glad hand locks keep your cargo--or your customer's--safe and secure.

Glad Hand Locks Are Easy to Use

Glad hands--which look like a pair of hands shaking--are quick release fittings for hoses connected to the brake system. Without locks, someone could release the air pressure of the brakes and move the truck; not easily, but they could do it. Once the trailer is somewhere else, thieves could easily ransack it.

Glad hand locks are easy to use and easy to install. Other types of locks, such as kingpin locks, can also be used for the same purpose, but these require getting under the trailer and cumbersome work to install. Also, a glad hand lock is ease to remove, too; you get the peace of mind that security brings without much hassle.

Since it's a temporary lock, a glad hand lock is great for the road. If you are transporting loads across the country and dropping off trailers onto other people's lots, this is a quick and easy way to guaranty that your tractor will remain secure after you've dropped off your trailer. It's simple, secure, and portable--a perfect combination for protecting trailers.
