Reception Office SecurityWritten by Serena Berger Reception offices for many businesses may want to issue passes to visitors. Government offices, schools, hospitals and health care facilities, and many other businesses all want to be able to identify guests and provide an easy way for employees and security to keep track of them on the premises. A reception center also makes it easier to keep a log of all the visitors you've had, should you ever need to access that information. Additional Uses for Reception Security Data and RecordsThere may come a time when you want to be able to produce a report about visitors to your facility. Perhaps you want to determine what times of the day, week, month, or year typically have the highest volume of visitor traffic. That way you would be better able to staff your building, hiring employees when their services are really necessary, but not spending money on unnecessary personnel. The same data that is essential for reception security can become useful for figuring out how and where to allocate resources in the future. Perhaps you want to determine something as simple as whether vending machines or bathrooms are being used more by employees or visitors. You could run a query on how many visitors entered your building and compare use of machines or facilities in unrestricted areas to those in areas to which only your employees have access. As a supervisor, you may also want access to data about who has visited your employees and for what purpose. In a case with a problematic employee, you may want to determine whether he or she has been receiving too many personal visits during work hours. In the normal course of operations, you may want to have a log of which clients have come to see which employee so that you can follow-up with either the guest or the employee.
