Security Tapes

Security tapes not only close up common cardboard boxes, but create an efficient method of determining if that box has been broken into. Tamper evident security tapes give visual verification if a tape has been cut or removed and replaced by a would-be thief. This indication lets unsuspecting recipients decline shipment rather than unwittingly accept pilfered goods.

Security Tapes Take the Guesswork out of Unwanted Tampering

Theft is a lot like speeding down the highway; you are only guilty if you get caught. When people surreptitiously open and steal from unattended packages, they often don't get caught. As long as they seal the box back up, no one can even tell that box has been broken into. When it gets to its final destination, the recipient usually signs for the delivery, and finds out later that something is missing.

There are a few security tapes that address this problem. A pilfer evident tape has a special coating; when the tape is cut and resealed, a hidden word ("open") appears in the tape about two hours later. This indicates to the recipient that the box has been tampered with, and they can make a theft claim.

Other tamper evident sealing tapes reveal a hidden message immediately when the tape is removed. If the tape is cut, the special silicone face prohibits resealing; one quick look and you'll know if someone has been in your package or not. Both types of security tape also feature a unique numbering system on the face of the tape for an additional level of security.
