Ski Badges

Ski badges are usually necessary for anyone who wants to hit the slopes at a resort. They are often required to gain entrance into onsite shops, lodges, and restaurants as well. Badges are simply a way for resorts to make sure that only people who have paid have access to skiing and other activities.

Many resorts have switched to ski badges that actually have memory capabilities over the past few years. These cards can have money stored on them, they can monitor how long a person has been staying at the resort, and they can grant access to secured areas. Having e-cash stored on a ski badge allows a person to buy drinks and food at resort bars, rent equipment, or purchase souvenirs to commemorate his first trip down a black slope.

Reels For Ski Badges

People often have problems holding onto their ski badges. Clips do very little to hold an ID in pace while whipping down a mountain. Lanyards are usually too loose. They can fall off, or more commonly, can get in the skier's way. The most useful accessory to use with ski badges is a badge reel.

Badge reels hold the card on the end of a nylon cord that allows the skier to extend the cord to show the left operator the ski pass. The cord automatically retracts on a reel to keep it out of the way. This is more convenient for everyone involved in this interaction, as well as safer.
