Visitor Passes

Visitor passes are an inoffensive method you can employ to keep track of visitors to your building. Issuing ID badges has become such a standard practice that visitors will not think twice about signing in and donning a pass. Whether your temporary passes are intended for relatively long-term use (by contractors, for example) or for extremely limited use, it is important that you be able to keep track of the visitors that are in your building.

Most visitor passes have a line on them to indicate when they expire. It does not take much creativity to realize that this can be easily changed or left blank, however, allowing access to someone who does not belong in your building. Given that people will be coming and going at different times of the day, it would be extremely difficult to collect all the expired passes that your building has issued.

Self-Expiring Passes

Passes are available that essentially do this work for you. Some passes change their appearance over time, and ultimately expire at a pre-determined time. These passes are easily identifiable, and therefore someone would not be able to reuse a pass that has already expired.

If you are looking for long term passes or passes that can be thrown out at the end of the day, both types are available with the self-expiring feature. If you already have a stock of customized passes, you can purchase small expiring stickers that adhere to your passes. These change appearance in the same way as the self-expiring badges, yet allow you to use the stock of passes that you already own.
