These are the jets that are currently being used by the U.S. Air Force demonstrations in their Blue Angels team.

To date, the F/A 18 Hornet is used by several different nations including Canada, Australia, Finland, Spain and Switzerland. These jets have proven themselves over and over in battle. These aircraft have been known to take direct hits and return to their base with crew intact.

The F/A 18 Hornet: The Aircraft of the Blue Angels

Like so many military aircraft pictures, the one above hardly does the Hornet justice. If you can, you should try to catch an air show featuring the Blue Angels. Nothing drives home to speed, power, and maneuverability of this beautifully designed aircraft like seeing it first-hand. You can also find many different airplane collectibles as these shows.

You can find more information about the F/A 18 hornet online. There are several websites dedicated to the men and women who have flown these planes into battle, and in training missions around the country. Some websites provide you with information about where you can catch performances of the Blue Angels in your hometown. This is a one of a kind experience that makes for a worthwhile experience for people young and old.
