For those looking to buy a very special gift for a very special teacher, crystal awards are one option. Awards made out of crystal have a high-end appearance and almost look like works of art. While they look prestigious, crystal awards are actually remarkably affordable. They can be found in a variety of shapes and sizes and for as little as $20.

Crystal is a great surface to engrave on. With sand etching almost anything can be engraved including words, logos and art representations. Crystal can also be engraved by laser. Depending on the shape of the object a laser can engrave either on the surface or beneath it.

Types of Crystal Awards

An engraved crystal gift is often given to a teacher or educator celebrating an anniversary or marking an extraordinary achievement. They come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Some examples include crystal icebergs, crystal apples, crystal stars, crystal pyramids, crystal globes, crystal gavels and crystal cubes. The simpler designs like the icebergs and cubes are perfect for more intricate engraving. Likewise, the more distinctive designs like the apple immediately connote a particular theme such as teaching.

Crystal awards are also used as stock awards for schools and companies. Some have chosen crystal awards for their annual achievement awards. For example, a crystal iceberg with a school's name, logo or mascot, and the award distinction would make an appropriate award for a teacher. Giving out the same award each year is a nice way to establish a tradition and to build respect for the achievement being honored.
