Newborn Baby Pictures

When you think about it, people tend to start taking pictures of their baby while it is still in the womb. Many parents will choose to have an ultrasound and will often receive printouts of the results. The ultrasound picture is touted as "baby's first picture" and is often kept in the baby's memory book. Parents will show the picture to family, friends, co-workers, and sometimes, anyone who will look.

Once the baby is born, the picture spree starts in full force. Hospitals offer a newborn photo service that includes taking a digital picture of the newborn and posting it on the hospital's website. The service isn't free and will likely not be covered under an insurance plan, so make sure you know the costs before agreeing to have the picture taken.

When babies are born everyone wants to get a look at the new family addition as soon as possible. The Internet and digital cameras have made sharing newborn pictures much easier than it was just 10 years ago. Photos taken with digital cameras can be immediately uploaded to a computer and shared via e-mail or a baby website. Relatives no longer need to wait for the postman as they can just check their e-mail for their baby updates.

Why We Love Baby Pictures

It seems that everybody loves a cute baby picture. Anne Geddes has made a career of photographing babies and her pictures are famous world wide. There are many interesting theories as to why we find babies so cute. One theory states that babies are cute by design to ensure survival of the species. After all, if babies were ugly who would want one? An addition to this theory is that babies are cute because human children take a long time to rear and need to be well liked in order to survive. Whatever the reason, baby pictures will forever be taken and bring many smiles to many faces.
