Diamond earrings can turn a dressy outfit into a masterpiece. They are usually worn by women, but men's earrings are also available at fine jewelry stores. You may also want to consider purchasing a diamond necklace or bracelet that matches your earrings to complete your ensemble. There are many different types of earrings available to meet a variety of price ranges.

Types of Diamond Earrings

The three basic types of diamond earrings are stud earrings, hoop earrings, and huggy style earrings. You can also purchase earring jackets that are interchangeable with stud earrings. Stud earrings are small earrings with one simple diamond attached to an earring post. Diamond stud earrings usually have a secure screw back to prevent each earring from falling off. The most popular shapes of diamonds for stud earrings are princess cut and round cut.

Diamond hoop earrings are traditional, but can make more of a visual impact than stud earrings because they are larger. There are many different ways that diamonds can be placed on hoops. Diamonds may cover a portion of the hoop or may line the entire hoop. The latest trend is diamond hoop earrings with the diamonds set on the front side of the hoop and on the inside of the back of the hoop.

Huggy style diamond earrings are elegant and easy to put on and take off. They clasp without the need for a separate backing. Huggy style earrings are similar to hoops because they curve around to both sides of the ear. However, huggy style earrings are usually narrower so they give the appearance that the earrings are hugging your ears.
