Oval Diamonds

Oval diamonds generally appeal to those who want a diamond shape that's a little more unique than your typical round diamond, but not quite as unusual as a heart shaped diamond. Oval diamonds offer all the same sparkle but a slightly more distinctive shape. If you're the kind of gal who likes to stand out in a crowd, think oval instead of round.

Why Buy Oval Diamonds?

As mentioned, oval diamonds are slightly more unusual than round diamonds and consequently appeal to the fashionista who likes to be daring. But choosing oval diamonds is a little more complex than that. Mixing diamond shapes can be tricky, so if you want to go oval, think twice.

For example, you wouldn't want to mix oval diamond studs with a princess shaped pendant or ring. Whatever shape you choose, you want to be consistent. If you decide on oval diamonds, it should be oval diamonds all around (unless of course you're wealthy enough to afford several different sets of diamond jewelry).

Oval diamonds are favorite for those who want 3 stone anniversary rings. The rings feature an oval diamond in the middle with two smaller oval diamonds on either side. This kind of setting works best with oval or princess cut diamonds since round diamonds are just a tad too wide.
