Three stone diamond pendants have long been and continue to be one of the most popular designs when it comes to gem stone pendants. Since the three stones are usually connected in a vertical fashion, the pendant is a great item to wear with plunging necklines. They can also be purchased as part of a set--matching three stone earrings will complete the look you're going for.

A Guide to Three Stone Diamond Pendants

Diamonds tend to be the most popular of the gems used in three stone diamond pendants, but these lovely necklaces come in all types of gems. Rubies, sapphires and emeralds are also quite popular, as is onyx. Another aspect of choice is the metal used--three stone pendants come in platinum, white gold, yellow gold, and silver.

Now most three stone diamond pendants connect the stones in a vertical pattern--the smallest stone sits on top, the mid-sized sits in the middle, and the largest stone rests on the bottom. Generally there is a slight bit of distance--perhaps three millimeters or so--between the stones.

That is not, however, always the case. Some three stone diamond pendants make use of what is commonly referred to as the snowman design. The gem stones follow the same pattern describe above only there is no distance between the stones--each stone sits directly on top of the one below it so it resembles a snowman.
