Bridal Jewelry

Bridal jewelry is one of the most important investments you are likely to make, especially if you are marrying a woman who has always dreamed of having an exquisite diamond on her finger. There are many important decisions to make if you are selecting bridal jewelry, and you should strongly consider making them with your partner. While it may seem like a wonderfully romantic fantasy to propose without warning and present an engagement ring in that moment, there are related issues and repercussions that can be complicated enough that it may be best to involve the woman you love in all stages of the discussion.

The Practical Concerns in Buying Bridal Jewelry

For example, many women want to have a matched set which includes their engagement ring and wedding ring, and may even leave a place for an anniversary band as well. If you want to have matching wedding bands, that compounds the complication of being able to get an engagement ring which sits comfortably on the finger with the wedding band you choose and looks good with it, too. While designers can take the guess work out of this by providing matched sets of engagement rings and wedding rings for women, you have to do your part from the beginning by selecting a ring set that your bride will like.

Many jewelers specialize in bridal jewelry. Diamonds, in particular, require techniques that can develop over a lifetime, so it should come as no surprise that the most beautiful engagement solitaires and diamond wedding bands often come from diamond specialists. And while there are a number of jewelers who could legitimately call themselves masters of diamond work, there are only a few whose designs for settings are as unique and stunning as the stones themselves.

If you are buying an engagement ring or wedding ring for a woman who has particularly refined taste and a decidedly romantic streak, there are a few fine jewelers whose work might be particularly appropriate. Tacori and Michael Beaudry, for example, specialize in filigree work and hand engraving in platinum, so their settings are elaborate, delicate, and feminine. Christian Bauer and Scott Kay also make beautiful rings, which are warm and sensual, but a little bit less ornate.
