Girard-Perregaux watches are simply some of the best watches in the world. While other companies try to define style and push the envelope, Girard-Perregaux remains true to a commitment not to impose style on their watches or their customers, but rather to allow customers to achieve their own standards of taste, style, and elegance with the perfect watch. The Swiss company has existed since 1791, though it only became known as Girard-Perregaux in 1854.

Girard-Perregaux watches are characterized by engineering and architecture, unlike many other watches which are defined by color, flash, or ultra-modernism. In fact, a model first designed in 1867 remains part of the company's most popular designs to this day. The tourbillon with three gold bridges is the signature of Girard-Perregaux products, and a master craftsman takes the better part of an entire year to make minute adjustments to this masterwork in precision timekeeping.

The Engineering Achievements of Girard-Perregaux Watches

Girard-Perregaux claims that their watches are "a state of mind," a statement which comes into profound focus when you realize that it does take an elite engineering artist about a year to make the single instrument that you wear on your wrist. Currently, one of the most popular collections of Girard-Perregaux watches is the Vintage 1945 line, an understated collection for gentlemen with rectangular cases and a variety of metals and materials for bands and bracelets. These watches all feature some industry standard components for excellence, such as sapphire crystals and water resistance to 30 meters, but it is the engineering components that make them coveted by many men above the watches of competing brands.

Girard-Perregaux also offers collections for women, primarily the aptly named Lady collection. The watches in this collection are elegant and simple, though some are accented with diamonds, and suitable for everyday wear. At the extreme end of stylistic bravado for Girard-Perregaux would be the pink watch in the Richeville collection, with its bold pink leather strap and white gold case.
