When you think of a wedding band, you undoubtedly envision a plain, yellow gold wedding band. Fortunately for those who desire a little more than the norm, there are various ways to jazz up the typical wedding band. The options range from adding special engravings to using different variations and combinations of color.

One way to ensure that you are getting a one of a kind set of wedding bands is to have your names and the date of your wedding inscribed in them. Still other couples choose to have a portion of their vows engraved on the ring. Both of these options practically guarantee that you will have totally unique wedding bands.

Another way to design a distinctive wedding band is to combine different types of materials together. Since we've already established that yellow gold is considered the standard for wedding bands, it naturally follows that fashioning the rings out of any other metal would be considered unique. With that in mind, some other materials you might want to consider for your wedding bands include silver, platinum, and titanium.

Titanium Wedding Bands

Although most people are familiar with silver and platinum and a fair share of people have even had their rings made of them, these metals are definitely not considered to be the norm for wedding bands. However, they are by no means considered extraordinary. Titanium, on the other hand, is a totally different story.

Titanium is a very lightweight material that is unusually strong. This provides an excellent combination of comfort and durability, something that is desperately needed in ring that will be worn every day. However, if you want something truly out of the ordinary, you might want to look into getting a fairly uncommon rose gold or green gold ring.
