Growers are fascinated with the new species that can be propagated by crossbreeding. Some work with peony seeds, while others use grafting methods. Growers will wait several years before accepting or rejecting a new variety since young peony plants produce flowers that may be a little or very different than those produced by a mature plant. Record keeping is critical.
