Anniversary Invitations

As the years go on, anniversaries become increasingly special. With divorce being as prevalent as it is, it seems rare that you meet couples who have been married for 20 or more years. However, you don't have to be hitting the 30- or 40-year mark to have a great anniversary celebration. You can have a great party for your first year or your 60th year. You only need a desire to have a good time.

An Anniversary Party

Many people will send out invitations for their anniversary parties. If you opt to do this, I suggest having them custom made. You're celebrating the great love of your life. Do you really want some generic cards from the drug store? Before you select cards, you might want to figure out what kind of party you are having. Start by looking at the anniversary you are celebrating.

If you are within the first five or ten years, it's traditional to stay away from gold or silver on your invitations. However, you can certainly do whatever you want. They're your cards. You're paying for them. You can choose whatever theme works for you. You might want to focus on love using traditional symbols such as hearts and flowers. For a more festive feel, go with streamers or fun colors.

Many people are turning to the Internet to order personalized cards. You can choose the design that you want along with the printed words. Some people like to print a portion of their vows or a favorite love poem. Mention how many years you are celebrating. Let people know if you would like them to bring a dish or their own drinks. Anniversary invitations allow you to be as sentimental as you wish--it's not every day that you and your spouse publicly celebrate your love for each other!
