School Crossing Signs

School crossing signs are often a necessity in school zones. Not every school has a crossing guard. Crossing guards are often volunteers from the neighborhood, or the parents and grandparents of students. Even if areas have a crossing guard, they could be home sick on occasion leaving the children to fend for themselves when it comes to street crossing.

School Crossing Signs at Work

It is crucial that school crossing signs are posted clearly and abundantly in areas where children walk home from school. It is far too easy for drivers to allow their minds to wander while driving, or look down briefly to change the radio station in their car. These momentary distractions can lead to serious accidents.

Cars weigh about a ton. Children weigh about sixty pounds. You don't have to be a physicist to realize who gets hurt most in the event of a collision. The tragedy lies in the degree to which Americans have taken driving for granted. School crossing signs must be observed.

Driving: The Ultimate Privilege

Driving is a privilege, not a right. That's why people have to wait until they turn sixteen to drive. That is why tests must be passed, vision must be acceptable, and a license must be procured for people to be allowed to drive. It is all too easy to forget that cars are among the top five killers in the country. Drivers become pre-occupied with music, eating, or conversation when they should be paying attention to the road.
