Lavender Rugs

Lavender rugs are a great decorative option for someone who loves purple. While rich violets and royal purples are beautiful colors, it can be tough to incorporate them into a design scheme. Like vibrant reds or bright kelly greens, those intense purples make great accent pieces, but can be a little overwhelming in large doses like entire walls or wall-to-wall carpets.

Lavender rugs can be paired with many different colors, however, and still give a purple addict his or her fix. Lavender looks wonderful with creams and beiges, grays, periwinkles, dark blues, and many other deep, dusty, or neutral colors. Some designers even use lavender as a neutral, though it's not quite so neutral that you'd want to put a lavender rug next to a tangerine sofa.

Area and Throw Lavender Rugs

There are a number of great size, shape, and design options in lavender rugs. Area rugs can transform a room entirely. If you rent an apartment and it comes with wall-to-wall carpet that's not in the greatest condition, you'll rely on area rugs to brighten it up and make everything look better. You can get a large area rug that covers up any worn spots or stains and instantly makes the room more attractive, all for very little money.

You can also get small area rugs for any room of the house. If you want to show off beautiful hardwood floors in your bedroom but hate stepping out of bed on a cold day onto a cold floor, a small throw rug next to your bed will do the trick. Similarly, a lavender rug beside your bath will protect your floor and make you more comfortable at the same time.
