Nautical Gifts

What on earth do you give to the nautical enthusiast who has everything? Your friend the boat captain has very little room on the boat for gifts. Your Dad who's retired from the Navy doesn't have any hobbies except. . .Navy memorabilia. How about combining a small, decorative gift with one that expresses your feelings straight from the heart?

A message in a bottle is a different idea. It reminds one of the sea and the treasures that one sails to find. The scroll itself can contain any number of private messages wishing the recipient a happy occasion and letting him or her know you appreciate his or her influence in your life. And it's a keepsake that will enhance any decor, especially since you can choose among numerous colors, shapes, and sizes of bottles.

Other nautical gifts include anything with a sailing motif, such as an anchor, a boat, or the ocean. Maps, instruments, or a party on the recipient's own boat also make unique gift ideas. Nautical gifts work well because they are not occasion-specific, so you can find something that works equally well for special times, holidays or birthdays.

Some other gift ideas are ships' wheels, life rings, and accent furniture in a nautical style. These items are made to decorate nautical homes. You could go back in time with Galileo-style hourglasses or barometers and compasses in the shape of ships' wheels. We can almost guarantee you will find something they will appreciate that they don't already have.
