Ordering flowers, online, in person, or by phone, couldn't be simpler. You will need the recipient's name and address information (as much as you have) as well as a form of payment--over the phone or Web, this means a credit card. Browse through the site or in-person photo books to get an idea for the type of arrangement you like and your price range. Many arrangements can be used for different occasions, while some, such as funeral baskets and Christmas wreaths, are made for specific occasions.

Shopping by Category and Price

If you have a budget in mind, you can shop by price range. If you want a particular type of flower or color, you can shop by those categories, too. Most florists are more than willing to make suggestions to help you out. This is their business and they are experts at design and arranging. They have also seen different gifts over the years and have many ideas for personalizing your arrangement.

Most florists also carry gift baskets in case you want to send something other than flowers. These can be fruit or gourmet products or a combination of both. Sometimes stores also have decorative accents for the home, teddy bears to add on to a bouquet, and hundreds of balloons to choose from. If you want to add these items on to a floral arrangement, be sure the florist can do it. Often gift items are sent separately from flowers.

Once you have chosen your gift, you just give the florist the necessary information such as the recipient's name and address and the occasion so they include an appropriate card/tag. You can have a gift sent to a hospital or nursing home as well as at the person's workplace. In many cases you can even send flowers the same day you order them. Online, you click the button for "checkout" next and enter your payment information. That's your final step and your flowers will be delivered by a florist who is local to your recipient.
