Purple Furniture

There probably isn't a lot of purple furniture at your local decoration superstore. If you're a real purple lover, that can be pretty disappointing; but for the most part, people are daunted by the thought of trying to match things with purples, so stores shy away from offering purple sofas and chairs. You can probably find patterns with darker plums, but you'll have to search out a special contemporary design shop or custom builder if you want to get something with a really bold and dramatic purple print or bright color.

In fact, if you really want a purple chair or couch, re-upholstering a piece that comes in a design, size, and shape that you like might be the best option. That way, you'll have a variety of purple fabrics to choose from at a fabric store, and you can get exactly what you want. If you (understandably) don't want to take on the task of upholstering by yourself, it can still be fairly inexpensive to have it professionally done, especially if the piece isn't a valuable antique.

Purple Furniture for Children

You might have more flexibility in selecting purple furniture for kid's rooms. Bolder and more playful design schemes can incorporate vibrant hues of purple like violet and amethyst that typically get included only in smaller doses in living rooms or master bedrooms. If you have a child who loves purple, painting his or her bedroom purple isn't out of the question, and you can also think about getting a purple comforter, chair, or art work.

For children, teens, and even college students, there are a lot of fun options in inflatable purple furniture. An inflatable purple bed can be great to pull out for a sleepover, and easy to store under the bed or in the closet the rest of the time. Inflatable purple chairs can be surprisingly comfortable for lounging around watching a movie or reading.
