In today's busy world, taking the time to shop all over town can be a real burden. More and more couples are registering at local stores and online so that their relatives and friends will know exactly what they want as they begin their new journey. Shopping for wedding gifts through a registry can be fun, especially knowing that the bridal couple will really appreciate what you've bought for them.

For Couples

If you're planning a wedding, and you know your family and friends are planning bridal showers, it's important to not only register but also to let them know where you have entered your choices. In the not-too-distant past, registering at major retailers was your only option. That is no longer the case. Couples are now registering at discount stores, linen and pottery stores, chain retailers, and even lawn and garden outlets.

Where you register is entirely up to you. Many stores have streamlined the registry process to include online registration. This is an incredible timesaver for busy couples planning their wedding and their futures. Online registry sites have, in some cases, hundreds and hundreds of photos and descriptions of items the couple might want to select.

How to Register

Simply enter the name of the store where you want to register and you will usually be offered several options including bridal registry. Simply follow the instructions. The store will automatically keep track of which items have been purchased by your friends and relatives so that there won't be any duplications. Once you're registered and have selected the items you would like to have, all you have to do is to open the presents.
