Day Forward Scanning

Day forward scanning differs from backfile scan jobs in one important respect. Backfile scanning is a considered a bulk project where thousands or millions of pages require scanning and conversion. Day forward services are the follow up to bulk projects; ongoing scanning services that keep backfile down.

Stay Paperless with Day Forward Scanning
As mentioned in a previous page, backfile scanning will not keep you paperless forever. It may reduce your office storage needs, increase productivity and accessibility and save you some serious money. However, without practicing day forward scanning, keeping up with the incoming volume of documentation is impossible. Before you know it, you'll find yourself back at square one.

Include Day Forward in Your Service Contract

When you sign a contract with a scanning service provider, day forward scanning should be one of your considerations. You've priced out the cost for scanning your archived information and the destruction of the documents once scanning is complete. Don't forget to ask about ongoing service contracts.

Many vendors can provide you with on-site staff whether it's once a week or once a month in order to keep you in a paper-free environment. Other providers may offer to lease the scanning equipment to you so that you can have your own staff convert the documentation. Whichever road you take, be sure to look at the big picture and prevent the backfile from recurring.

Document Scanning Dallas

Very true.
Many organizations can have back scanning done and then implement a day forward document management program that will save them money in the long term. Our document scanning service loves back scanning, but we also recommend daily document scanning and management either in-house, or outsourced.
