A VOIP gateway is a service that combines voice and data communication. It allows you to control these two networks simultaneously with an internet connection and VOIP software. VOIP stands for Voice Over Internet Protocol and the service will do just that.

VOIP Gateway Features

A VOIP Gateway allows you to hold a telephone conversation over the Internet. It is beneficial because you will not need to use your standard telephone in the process. You can discuss ideas over the internet and continue to receive calls on your regular telephone at the same time.

A VOIP gateway is most commonly used in business. It allows colleagues to converse verbally about data that they are sharing online. VOIP is an excellent tool for conference calling as well.

VOIP companies offer many different service plans. You can choose to converse with one person, or up to 50 people at one time. Many companies will also offer added security features to prevent eavesdropping.
