Framed golf maps can add a pleasant accent to any golf enthusiast's den, study, or office. Depictions of historic courses, such as Scotland's St. Andrews Old Course, Pebble Beach in northern California, or the Augusta National course in Georgia, make lovely and inspirational art pieces for new and experienced golfers alike. A framed drawing or photo of a picturesque or memorable hole makes a special gift. You might consider a framed golf map for Father's Day, a special gift for a client, or even a reward for yourself.

Some companies offer unique, 3-D, shadowbox maps. These three-dimensional renderings of beautiful fairways and greens make you feel as if you were on the course. Also available are trading-card size laminated maps of favorite courses and holes. Many golf enthusiasts collect antique maps, and drawings from the late 1800s and early 1900s, both Scottish and American, are quite popular.

Memorable Maps

Collectible golf maps, such as those of a particular tournament or those autographed by players, are becoming increasingly popular. Maps autographed by top players, such as Tiger Woods and Greg Norman, are particularly valuable.

Framed and unframed golf maps are available at retail golf shops, pro shops, and via online golf retailers. Golf maps range in price from several dollars to several thousand dollars, depending on their scarcity, desirability, and whether they are autographed. Not sure which golf map to choose? Give a golf shop gift certificate and let your client, family member, or friend choose his favorite.
