Knife Kits

Many people enjoy receiving knife kits for the simple security and ease that they offer. There are an extreme range of different types of kits to choose from. Some are focused on emergency medicine, while others are built for hunters, fishermen or campers.

A typical knife kit may include a utility sheath, a large knife and a smaller, more compact folding blade. The sheath has enough pockets to house each knife in addition to any number of other objects, from flashlights to pliers and bandaids. If the kit is specifically designed for hunters, it may include cleaning and gutting knifes, bone saw, clip point knife and a set of replacement blades.

For campers, knife kits can also include compasses, tweezers, screwdrivers and small axes. Fishing kits can offer a fillet knife accompanied by fishing shears, baiting pliers and fishing line scissors. The range of choices is extremely varied, so make sure you know exactly what you are looking for before going out to shop.

Other Accessories to Include with Knife Kits

Although not included in some kits, higher quality knife kits can include knife sharpeners along with the entire package. Because most kits are small and meant to be compact, the sharpener is usually a small manual stone. However, some companies have designed sheaths that include built-in sharpeners within them so the blade is sharpened every time it is removed or placed back into it.
