The economy Adidas instep guard is an economic and affordable way to protect your feet during martial arts training. It is especially useful for kicking techniques used in Karate, Kung Fu, Muay Thai, and kickboxing arts. With the Adidas name attached to them, these simply cloth instep protectors can endure years of use and protect both the instep and the upper area of the ankle as well.

An Adidas instep guard is made of cloth and is padded on the top and inside of the foot. The heel and toes are left open to ensure flexible movement and balance during training. Some other Adidas models include an elastic heel strap for extra support and vinyl padding on all sides for extra protection.

The Importance of Wearing an Adidas Instep Guard

The bones of the feet and ankle are very delicate and are quite susceptible to hairline fractures and breaks. A self defense student can even hurt his or her foot (when not protected) and not feel the pain for a few days. However, if a broken bone does not receive proper care and attention, it may heal incorrectly and lead to future pain, discomfort, and balance problems in the future.

Some instep guards come with Adidas shin protectors as a set of protective leg wear. However, sometimes it is a good idea to simply buy an instep guard for separate use, especially if you are going to be sparring with a punching and fighting bag on your own. They also support the foot against annoying foot cramps and keep the ankle in good alignment with the foot on a regular daily basis.
