The magazine Time named the Trikke scooter as one of the Best Inventions of 2002. They have been seen transporting Hollywood celebrities such as Jennifer Aniston and David Spade and are considered one of the safest self-propelled vehicles on the market. Indeed, the Trikke 8 model was named by The Los Angeles Safety Foundation as the safest type of wheeled vehicle to be found on the road today.

Officially described as a "3 Wheel Cambering Vehicle," the Trikke uses a unique design in which the entire unit tilts from one side to the other. This tilt creates a man-made down slope, causing the Trikke to move forward as soon as the rider performs a skate-style horizontal push off. The feet never need to make contact with the ground; the back and forth motion of the lower body, which is similar to an inline skater's, propels the vehicle and rider forward. Because this action is so simple, children, teens and adults alike can learn how to ride and begin to have fun on the Trikke scooter within minutes.

In addition to being fun, Trikke scooters are now being used as fitness training equipment by professional trainers and health advisors. The Trikke provides source of low impact exercise for the entire body and can be a great cardio-inducing workout alternative when gym machines become boring. When the basics of riding the unit are mastered on flat ground, the rider can even learn and increase the skill and endurance necessary to push the Trikke uphill.

Bring the Trikke to Open Roads, Not City Streets

Because the Trikke scooter demands a wide stance and a side-to-side motion of the body, it is much better suited for larger bike paths and jogging trails rather than busy sidewalks. For this, it is marketed towards outdoor fitness enthusiasts and families who enjoy exercising together in the open air. Parents should purchase the right model size for their children and demand that they place a helmet and other protective gear on before venturing into the neighborhood streets.
