Travel Kits

Travel kits may seem like an extra expense, but the convenience they add is worth it. Just as location, location, location is the mantra in real estate, convenience and portability are the battle cries of traveling. Travel kits put everything together for you in a useful, compact space.

Think of the half dozen or so largest toiletry items in your bathroom: shampoo and conditioner, shaving lotion, deodorant, various sprays and lotions. You'll want them on your trip, too, but there's no need--and no room--to bring two months' worth of toothpaste for a 3-day trip. That's the beauty of travel kits.

Travel Kits Keep it Small

I love a good travel kit, the kind with a hook that hangs right in the hotel bathroom, with pockets for all the lotions and potions I need. And I don't need a lot--a little bottle of each will get me through the trip. See-through mesh pockets keep me from jamming my fingers into my shaving razor, and with a quick zip I'm packed and ready to go. That's convenient and portable.

I think it's the compartments that I like the most. I've had bags where my toiletries bounce around, but the kits with more pockets appeal to my organizational tendencies. A well-designed travel kits requires a well-organized mind to use it--and being organized on a trip is a great advantage, especially when it comes to packing.
