There are numerous Connecticut vacation spots that you may wish to consider if you are planning a trip to this corner of the world. Keep in mind that many of the state's hot spots are located in the southeastern portion of the state, which may make it easier for you when planning out your Connecticut accommodations. Mystic is home to Mystic Seaport, Mystic Aquarium, and don't forget about Mystic Pizza.

Just a few miles down the road lies Stonington, which is home to some of the very best wineries in the state, as well some historical Connecticut inns. There are beautiful beaches along the Mystic coastline, as well as to the north and south of Mystic. The Essex Steam Train is great fun, as visitors can hop on and get an up close and personal tour of the Connecticut River Valley. The scenery is especially breathtaking during the autumn season, so you may wish to plan your trip during September and October if you are hoping to sneak a peek at the fall foliage. You will be absolutely amazed at the spectacular array of color on the trees that is so vibrant it almost looks artificial.

Do not overlook the various museums in the state that cater to both small children and adults. If you are hoping to try your hand at some gambling, there are Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun Casinos, both offering dining and live entertainment.
