Mystic Aquarium is located off Interstate 95 at exit 90. That is all you have to remember if you are looking to visit both Mystic Seaport and Mystic Aquarium. The aquarium is open daily, except Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day, and the hours of operation are nine in the morning to six at night from March through December. From December through March, the hours are ten in the morning to five in the evening, Monday through Friday, and nine in the morning to six in the evening on the weekends.

Another great reason to travel to Connecticut and Mystic Aquarium in particular is that children under two can enter for free, and there is a special rate for kids three to 12. There are loads of programs for children, including the touch stingray pool, the Frogs of the World exhibit, and the sea lion show. With advanced reservations, you and your family can get a behind the scenes tour of the aquarium, and learn in depth about the sea life that is native to the Connecticut shore.

Mystic Aquarium now offers the Return to Titanic exhibit, which boasts an 18-foot model of this world-famous ship. Visitors can see how the ship looks today two and a half miles under the Atlantic Ocean. In addition, there is also the Beluga Contact Program the Penguin Contact Program, which lets you get up close and personal with these social marine animals. You must make reservations in advance to take part in either of the contact programs.
