Carnival Cruise Lines is a giant among cruise purveyors, and for good reason. Each of their 21 "fun ships" is advertised as a destination unto itself, with amenities ranging from the 214-foot waterslide aboard the Carnival Glory to the 11-story atrium on the Carnival Pride to the ship-long City Lights Boulevard on the Ecstasy. Getting there can be almost all the fun!

Carnival Cruise Lines Offers Specialized Cruises

Some of the most popular packages offered by Carnival Cruise Lines are the themed cruises. For one example, the Carnival Triumph is offering a "Mind/Body Cruise" to the eastern Caribbean (Puerto Rico, St. Maarten and St. Thomas). Seminars and workshops will be offered by experts from Shape and Men's Fitness magazines. The ship offers a gym that's a high-tech marvel, spa amenities to soothe the tired body after a hard workout and a fitness menu from the famed "Spa Carnival." Training programs include yoga, tai chi, weight training, aerobics and spinning. It's not all about fitness, though. You can still enjoy casinos and shows, explore on shore trips, or just laze by the pool if you so desire.

Other cruises cater to families, with special activities for children and teenagers. The Carnival Valor emphasizes the rich cultural history of the islands, from the British Nassau to the Dutch St. Maarten's and the Danish Charlotte Amalie. The Carnival Conquest and Carnival Glory offer Chocolate Buffets, which tempt you with more than 30 chocolate desserts each night. (After that, better book that fitness cruise!)

With such a wide range of ships, activities and destinations, Carnival Cruise Lines can meet most any traveler's needs. Better yet, if Mom wants to gamble and Dad wants to golf and the kids want to splash themselves silly, Carnival can meet the needs of the whole family on the same ship. From chorus girls to pastry chefs, from babysitters to conga drummers, everyone aboard a Carnival ship is there to make your cruise exceptional.
