Cuba Hotel Reservations

If you're thinking that Cuba is isolated and its hotels are not up to international standards, think again. Since 1980, when Cuba decided to open its frontiers to foreign tourism, the government has invested heavily in the hotel industry. Many historic houses were refitted to meet international standards of comfort, and new hotels have been built, in joint ventures with foreign companies.

The result is a new Cuba with a tremendous array of accommodations from modern luxury hotels to Colonial mansions, to all-inclusive holiday villages on uninhabited islands. There are familiar chains, including Club Med. There are historic legendary hotels with exquisite furnishings and service, such as the Hotel Nacional de Cuba, the Ambos Mundos Hotel (Hemingway's haunt), and the Hotel Sevilla, notorious in Graham Greene's novels.

Cuba hotel reservations should be booked far in advance of travel. Cuba is getting very popular, and you must plan your trip so that you have your first choice of accommodation. It's important to consider what kind of vacation you want before you make your Cuba hotel reservations.

Cuba Hotel Reservations For Beach Resorts

A beach holiday might be booked at some of the islands or peninsulas such as Cayo Coco, Varadero, or Guardalavaca, near Holguin. If you're an eco-tourist, you can book a tour that will concentrate on bird watching, perhaps on the Peninsula de Zapata; or hiking the Cuban peaks and staying in campgrounds; or horseback trekking across the island. If you're into scuba diving, the Caribbean sea beds off the island of Cuba offer some of the most exciting coral reef scenery imaginable, and you will want to book well in advance at some of the popular diving centers.
