In the 1950s, Havana, Cuba was a playground for the rich. It was famous for glamour--its music and nightclubs, cocktails and cigars, attracted everyone from Mafiosi to film stars. One of the most famous Cuba hotels in this glittering scene was the Hotel Nacional de Cuba.

The Hotel Nacional de Cuba is on the Malecon, the wide promenade overlooking the ocean in central Havana. The hotel's distinctive Art Deco architecture makes it a classic. Built in 1930, it has attracted the rich and famous ever since it opened its doors.

Everyone from Winston Churchill to Rita Hayworth stayed at the Hotel Nacional de Cuba. It was the hub of the nightclub circuit, with exotic cocktails served in its elegant bar. The beautiful park on the hotel grounds has stupendous views of the bay.

Now the Hotel Nacional de Cuba is as busy as ever. Its imposing structure is one of the landmarks along the Malecon, and it has retained its reputation of excellence. It is convenient to many attractions around and about Havana, Cuba, such as the famous art museum, Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, theatres such as the Teatro Nacional or the Gran Teatro, or the famous Ballet Nacional de Cuba.
